• Silicon (Si): 0.17% – 0.37%
• Manganese (Mn): 0.50% – 0.80%
• Phosphorus (P): maximum 0.035%
• Sulfur (S): maximum 0.035%

C45 carbon steel has the following physical properties:

Density: C45 carbon steel has a density of around 7.85 g/cm3 (0.284 lb/ in3).

Melting Point: C45 carbon steel has a melting point of around 1420-1460°C (2588-2660°F).

Thermal Expansion: C45 carbon steel has a modest coefficient of thermal expansion, which means that it expands and contracts with temperature changes. The actual coefficient varies slightly based on the steel’s composition and processing.

Electrical Conductivity: C45 carbon steel is generally regarded as a poor electrical conductor.

Magnetic properties: C45 carbon steel is ferromagnetic, which means it has magnetic properties and can be attracted to magnets.

Hardness: C45 carbon steel has a hardness grade of about 160-180 HB. This hardness value represents its resistance to indentation and wear.

Strength: C45 carbon steel has good tensile and yield strength qualities, making it suitable for a variety of industrial applications.

6. Wire Rods: C45 carbon steel wire rods are cylindrical bars that are smaller in diameter than round bars. They are commonly utilized in high tensile strength applications and are frequently further processed into wire for specific uses.
